 When We Can Give Thousands of Chances to Those Who Never Deserved Them, Why Can't We Give One More Chance to Ourselves? There's a certain kind of stillness that comes over me on a rainy day; soft, muted, as if the entire earth has inhaled deeply and is waiting to exhale. An afternoon where you can be alone at a window; with a steaming cup of tea, or coffee; staring at the rainwater run down the window and making pictures. And in that moment when the world is in suspense, something curious happens. You suddenly become aware of the harsh way in which you talk to yourself.
